Important news about ACT! 2008 & ACT 2009

Earlier this week Sage announced their plans to withdraw support on ACT! 2008 (Version 10) and ACT! 2009 (Version 11).

After 30 April we'll be unable to source additional licences for these versions and upgraded licences for ACT! 2008 and ACT! 2009 will no longer be offered at a preferential rate from May 2012.

To update your software, or continue with ACT! 2009 & 2008, we've listed 3 options to help you make the best decision for your business:

1) Upgrade to ACT! 2012 and get up to 67% off the Sage price - until 30 April

By upgrading from ACT 2008 or 2009 to the latest ACT! 2012 edition with Preact before 30 April you'll receive an upgrade discount of up to 67% off the full Sage ACT! licence price.*

  • Upgrade to ACT! Pro 2012 from ACT! Pro 2008 or 2009 & receive an upgrade discount of 62% (Individual ACT! licences can be upgraded for just £72+VAT - further reductions are available on volume upgrades.)
  • Upgrade to ACT! Premium 2012 from ACT! Premium 2008/2009 & receive an upgrade discount of 67%.

These offers are only available until 30 April. Call 0800 381 1000 for an upgrade quote or just reply to this message.

We can also quote for one of our ACT! technicians to upgrade your database and configure ACT! 2012. Please contact us to secure availability and schedule your upgrade.

Read our ACT! 2012 upgrade guide to see what's new since ACT! 2009 including: compatibility with MS Office 2010 & Windows 7, new search options, updated opportunities module, direct import from Excel, an easier to navigate user interface & more.

2) Evaluate what Microsoft Dynamics CRM can offer your business

As an entry level CRM system ACT! might not have adapted to all the changes in your business since you installed the application.

We also work with Microsoft Dynamics CRM which offers more flexibility and functions in comparison to ACT! so it could provide you with a better long term solution. This includes:
  • Greater automation including automated emails & workflow driven processes that remove administration & help everyone work more efficiency
  • Clearer visibility of key performance metrics across all teams
  • Capacity to manage all processes & relationships in one application, for example: events, jobs, projects & products + customers, sales & activities
  • Fully accessible CRM in Microsoft Outlook and web browser

3) Staying with ACT! 2008 or 2009

At Preact we have no plans to withdraw support for ACT! 2009.

However, these versions are not compatible with Windows 7, Outlook 2010 or Microsoft Office 2010. If you are currently using the 2008 or 2009 editions and ACT! remains a long term system for your business we recommend updating your software now before Sage remove the preferential upgrade rate to ensure you receive the maximum rebate on your licences.

After 30 April you can continue using ACT! 2008 and 2009 but we'll be unable to supply additional licences.

If you don't plan to upgrade now, but may need extra ACT! licences in the future, you should order sufficient numbers before April to ensure availability.

Please contact me or any of the team at Preact, if you'd like to discuss these options and Sage's roadmap for ACT!

* These offers are only available for registered ACT! 2008 & ACT! 2009 customers until 30 April. The advertised discounts reflect the total upgrade saving compared to the Sage list price for new ACT! licences.
